One of the most common questions sent into this site on a daily basis is regarding the plans to build a Travellers site opposite the Fenny Lock Tesco Distribution Centre. So it is not surprising that we are covering this again. There seems to be varying reasons why this site shouldn't be built here. However, despite the varying degrees of comment sent into us, one thing is absent. That is anyone who thinks that this site is actually a good idea (except of course the travellers who are going there).

From the perspective of the Conservative party, we do not think that now is the time to be building a travellers site. Especially if it will only benefit a small subsection of travellers. Instead we want to see the money ~£1.6 MILLION spent on a good social housing estate. There are many families and individuals in Milton Keynes who are either on a waiting list or who live in outdated, run down housing. These hard working families have no where else to go yet the Liberal Democrat Council have opted to instead, build this site first. Instead of looking at the real benefits that could be harnessed from building social housing or updating exisiting housing stock. Of course there is nothing stopping the Travellers moving into the social housing if it is built.
It is disappointing that during times of such hardships for many, that the Council have chosen to spearhead this plan to benefit only 10 families instead of helping many others. I believe that the current Council administration has lost touch with what the electoral want... if you think differently please do get in touch via the "Contact Us" section below.
